MANATEE -- Florida Highway Patrol troopers are looking for the driver of a black SUV that caused a hit and run Tuesday night.
The black SUV, which troopers said was possibly a Hyundai, was westbound on University Parkway in the inside or left lane approaching Cooper Creek Boulevard at 9:12 p.m., according to a release. A Chrysler driven by a 23-year-old was westbound in the center lane, slightly ahead and to the right of the SUV.
The SUV traveled into the center lane and struck the the Chrysler's left rear side and did not stop, leaving the scene, troopers said.
Anyone with knowledge on the crash or the hit-and-run driver is asked to call FHP at 239-938-1800.
