ENGLEWOOD -- A motorcyclist who died Sunday after his 2002 Harley-Davidson Fatboy sideswiped a car on State Road 776 in Englewood has been identified by the Florida Highway Patrol.
Daniel Paul, 50, Englewood, was riding east on State Road 776 in the inside lane. A 2008 Toyota Corolla driven by Nathaniel James Nelson, 38, of Fort Myers, was stopped at a red light at S.R. 776 and Spinnaker Boulevard.
Paul attempted to pass the stopped car, clipped its right rear and continued through the intersection against the red light, according to FHP. Paul was not wearing a helmet.
Paul was taken to Englewood Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
