The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a convicted felon on drug and weapons charges this morning following an undercover investigation.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Arthur Meyer, DOB 7/6/52, 690 Annie Laurie Lane, Sarasota, who sold detectives two pounds of cannabis for $2,300 in November. After Meyer was taken into custody today, detectives searched the home and found another 410 grams of cannabis, 69 methadone pills and a .38 caliber revolver.
Meyer now faces additional charges for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methadone) and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. He has prior arrests for drug possession, theft and robbery.
Meyer's wife, Terri Ann Meyer, DOB 3/18/64, was also arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. At the time of her arrest she was free on bond for Possession of Cocaine and has a history of more than 20 arrests in Sarasota County for drug possession, weapons charges and theft.
