MANATEE -- Upper Manatee River Road was shut down about 11:30 a.m. Sunday by rising water levels, which are the result of water being released from the Manatee County Dam, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
A low-lying portion of Upper Manatee River Road just west of Rye road is now under water. Woodstock road is also experiencing flooding, according to the report.
Officials at the dam said that they will continue the release of water for the next four days to lower Manatee Lake water levels.
High-water signs have been posted and barricades are in place.
