MANATEE -- The 12-mile section of Interstate 75 in Manatee County closed because of a smoke from a brush fire earlier Tuesday is now fully reopened, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
As of 9 p.m., all lanes were reopened at mile marker 228 at the interchange with I-275.
Lanes had been closed between I-275 and mailer marker 233.
According to the FHP, the fire was at mile marker 233 in northern Manatee.
That brush fire destroyed about 50 acres in the area of U.S. 41 S and Valroy Road. Multiple units from Hillsborough and Manatee county responded to the scene and spent nearly two hours getting the fire under control.
No one was injured in the fire. Bay News 9 contributed to this story.
