BRADENTON -- A man told deputies he was punched and kicked by four or five men after they robbed him early Monday morning.
The 36-year-old victim was walking in the 2900 block of 14th Street West about 4:30 a.m. today when a grey pickup truck pulled up and four or five white and Hispanic men jumped out. One of them held out his arm, which was covered with a shirt, according to a deputy's report.
The man said "I got a gun" and demanded the victim's property. The Bradenton man handed over his house keys, a pack of cigarettes, a lighter and $5 cash, according to the report. The men then punched and kicked him several times.
The suspects fled north on 14th Street West. The victim waited about one hour before he flagged down a passing deputy to report the incident. He was taken to Blake Hospital with rib pain, but the extent of his injuries was not known.
