Dance teams to rock Neel twice Feb. 12

Yes, We Can Dance! is back!

The third annual Manatee County school dance teams extravaganza returns to State College of Florida’s Neel Performing Arts Center, for two shows, 3 and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12.

High school teams from Bayshore, Braden River, Lakewood Ranch, Manatee, Palmetto, Southeast and Manatee School for the Arts will join middle school teams from Braden River, Haile, Lee and Sugg.

Ex-BHS Honeybear director Helen Dolbec and Linda Boone, the ex-MHS Sugar ’Canes director, are coordinating the show.

They extend big thanks to show sponsors Ace Automotive, Beall’s, BrightHouse, Florida Institute for Neurologic Rehabilitation, Manatee Education Foundation, Mixon Fruit Farms, MSA, On a Shoestring, Trophy & Sports World and Sweetberries.

Tickets are $5, being sold by each team and proceeds go to the individual schools.

n Saint Stephen’s goalkeeper Conner McCullen is 16.

n Speaking of dance, good luck to the MHS Sugar ’Canes at UDA Nationals for the 25th straight year. Their high-kick prelims are 7:09 p.m. Saturday at Disney World’s Indiana Jones Amphitheater.

Finals are Sunday morning.
