n Check out today’s Southeast High Beast Feast 3 to 8 p.m. in the school cafeteria. It’s an athletic department BBQ fundraiser for Seminole baseball, softball, cross country and soccer.

n Danielle Hunter, a Prine Elementary honors third-grader and yellow belt at Bostock’s Tae Kwon Do, is 9.

n Pfc. JoJo Kinnan is on two-weeks leave from Afghanistan.

Parents Joe and Linda reunited with him, his wife Robin and their son Jay in Nashville.

JoJo’s tour of duty is up in August.

n How about a nice hand for Tommy Durante?

A musical prodigy on the recorder (English flute), the LRHS and MCC grad is now a senior classical composition major at FSU and has been accepted for summer study at Russia’s prestigious Moscow State University.

His family, friends and supporters are selling CD’s of his music to help defray his expenses.

Also, Oneco United Methodist Church will host a benefit concert by Tommy at 5 p.m., Feb. 12.

n Big ups to Dillon Romine, the BRHS lineman who verbally committed to the University of New Mexico Lobos.

It’s a beautiful state, one of my favorites. Land of Enchantment, indeed.

n Maureen Graham, head of VFW Post 10141’s auxiliary, reminds folks about their fish fry 5 p.m. Fridays and karaoke 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
