Big ups to Mike Radzilowski.

Tuesday will be the Bradenton chief of police’s 40th anniversary wearing a badge.

He’ll be feted at Wednesday evening’s city council meeting.

n Winifred Herman is 100. Cheers from her Hope Lutheran Church friends.

n Bob Permane and John Duey won the fifth annual Bass4Bucks Redfish Tournament for the second straight year and the $4,000 first prize.

Permane, the Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue operations chief, also won the $300 Bull Red/Randy Ballard Scholarship Fund Award for the biggest redfish (27 inches, 8.21 pounds).

Wife Betty and daughter Erica will help spend it.

n FSU fan Aaron Ruddell is the new GM at the Red Elephant on University Parkway.

n Bryan Tupper was elected to the Florida Federation of Young Republicans Executive Board as assistant secretary. He is president of the Manatee County Young Republican Club.

n Shawn Samuel, a summer camp counselor at 13th Av Dream Center and ex-Bayshore Bruin, is a junior cornerback at Winston-Salem State.

n The MHS Class of 1985’s 25th reunion is July 4th weekend.

n Alfred Gordon and Billy Dzwonkowski, of Alfred Gordon Photography, won seven awards of merit for photography at the recent Battle of the Bays at Tampa’s Doubletree Hotel in Tampa. Alfred’s “We Are Not Alone,” shot at South Florida Museum, took Best in Show.

n Gail and Ed Straight thank donors who helped raise more than $16,000 for Wildlife Inc. at the 10th annual blood drive.

n Poke-A-Dots Club for the Blind’s 40th anniversary celebrants were Wanda Pooley, Cheri Carlen, Virginia Davis, Doris Duns, Ruie Gale, Estell Hannah, Norma Jackson, Emma McGuire, Elza Russ and Gladys Unger.

Their volunteer drivers were Grace Barrett, Senie McGrath, Margrit Messenheimer, Elyse Odd, Jo Powsner and Dorothy Twiggs.
