Citizenship depends on one’s dress?

That Saowalux “May” Karpthip takes her citizenship oath today at Disney World, brings up a little humor from Beachhouse manager Mike Shannon.

When the Beachhouse waitress received her official packet from Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration Services for the ceremony, it contained instructions about dressing appropriately for Florida summertime weather.

Then it said: No shorts.

“Is that classic?” Shannon joked. “Disney World. In July. Wear shorts? Nah. That’s a government bureaucrat for you.”

n July 4th birthday girl Rebekah Morris is 14, and grandma Daphne Morris and aunt Raffie Wallin are 65.

n After my rant in Sunday’s column about Trop concession prices, Rays official Rick Vaughn responded by pointing out fans may bring their own food.

Coincidentally, ESPN’s seventh annual Ultimate Standings, which ranked 122 professional franchises by how much bang fans get for their buck, rated the Rays No. 1 in affordability — ticket prices, concessions and parking — and 16th overall.

Vaughn also reminds folks Trop parking is free to fans four in a car.

The Rays return home Tuesday against Toronto.
