Another doctor in Klement family

Big ups to Kristen Klement Hudak, cum laude graduate of the Georgetown University Medical School.

The proud family on hand included parents Bob (Georgetown Dental School 1981) and Susan, sister Kim, grands Bob and Anne Klement and Dorothy Weeks, and Kristen’s husband, Kevin.

A 2001 MHS alum and University of Virginia grad, Kristen will do six years of residency at the Medical School of Wisconsin in Milwaukee in reconstructive and plastic surgery.

n Kyle Hyatt, a Stewart Elementary fourth-grader, received an honorable mention for the second straight year in the Florida Studio Theatre Young Playwrights Festival in Sarasota.

His work, “My Dinner With the President,” was one of 35 chosen from 5,400 worldwide.

Kyle received a Certificate of Creative Achievement at a luncheon at which teacher Debbie Hasty was honored, too.

Kyle’s proud parents are Deborah and Kenneth.

n Saint Joseph Catholic School eighth-graders Morgan Welch and Maggie Potter took second and third, respectively, in the middle school category of Keep Manatee Beautiful’s “Grafitti Hurts” Art Contest.

Their instructor is Bobbie Wiese.

n At Bayshore High’s academic banquet, Nathan Whitehead was Bradenton Rotary’s Outstanding Male Senior, Paige LeBarr, Bradenton Rotary’s Outstanding Female Senior, and senior Kaycee Perry received Bradenton Rotary’s $2,000 Scholarship.

n Adopt-a-Family of Manatee County held a luncheon at Redeemer Lutheran Church for 96 volunteers who helped the program provide Christmas gifts for 1,481 needy families with 4,392 children.
