BCS choir in ‘Celebrate America’ Sunday night

When WEDU Public Television debuts “Tim Janis: Celebrate America”, Evelyn Magley and her Bradenton Christian School Select Choir will be glued to their TVs.

That’s because they’re in the program, which starts at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The BCS choir taped their segment with the acclaimed composer last October at WEDU’s studio in Tampa.

“The kids are ecstatic they’re finally going to see it,” Magley said. “Working with Tim Janis was amazing.”

The BCS performers are Melissa Molino, Elizabeth Judge, Lara Morley, Samantha Hayden, Kari Troung, Charlotte Sifrit, Angelica Cespedes, Leesha Yoder, soloist Emily Koselak, Jonathan Negrin, Daniel Perella, Chase Stripling, Mark Eman, Ariel Pecoraro, Ashley Ogedegbe, Lauren Smith, Courtney Morningstar, Anne Lynne Nash, Nikki Froelich, Lauren Molino, Hannah Price, Annelise VanderKolk, Bianca Zaffina, Kate Michelsen, Lydia Jackson, Jordan Hamilton, Keith Alkire, Jordan Negrin, Kelly Johnson, Jennifer Celaya, Sydney Dixon, Stephanie Montanus, Jeff DeKuiper, Jason Ellis, Nick Scheimann, Jordan Moss, Daniel Magley, Jesse Sliger and Graham Courter as well as violinists Ansley Hendrix and Melissa McCoy.

n Bradenton Rotary Club hosts “Comedy Jam” at 7:30 p.m. Friday at MCC’s Neel Performing Arts Center.

Comics Maria Bamford, Doug Benson and Graham Elwood join former Rotary president Traci Kanaan doing stand-up for a good cause.

Proceeds go to scholarships to MCC and USF Sarasota-Manatee, and to the Bradenton Rotary Foundation.
