LRHS excels at DECA event

Props to Lakewood Ranch High’s Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Chapter winners at the District 10 competition in Fort Myers.

First place winners were James Bardwell and Andy Barth in sports and entertainment management team decision making; Kellie Callahan and Grace Drake in business law and ethics management team decision making; Jennifer Langford in food marketing series event; Karissa Orrenmaa in apparel and accessories series event; Lauren Price, marketing management series event.

Erica Quinn took third in restaurant management. Shauna Martin was sixth in marketing management series event. Bob Jenkins is the school’s DECA adviser.

n Sharon Zell is 63. Cheers from grands Danny, Shelby and Max and her daughter Michelle Hennessy.

n Jessica Schultz is 21. Cheers from parents Brian and Julia, sister Kristine, boyfriend Troy Langford and their son Nathan.

n Sheri Borkowski, a Bayshore Bruin triple threat in swimming, soccer and track, is 17 Saturday. Cheers from mom Stephanie.

n Helen Riccio is 73 years young.

n Palma Sola Elementary’s Sara Love is 10. Cheers from dad David and brother James.

n Prine Elementary first-grader and Artistic Dance Studio performer Danielle Hunter is 7. Cheers from parents John and Denay, brother Marc, and grands Joe and Joanne.
