Old Bradentown Fraternity’s New Year’s Eve party a festive bash

On Wednesday night, everyone at the Bradenton Municipal Auditorium partied like it was 2009.

They were at the third annual New Year’s Eve bash held by The Old Bradentown Fraternity with the proceeds benefiting Manatee Crimestoppers this year. Founding members Greg Smith and Mike Gurley helped organize the fun.

Everyone was upbeat and ready to dance away the last of 2008 to the sounds of the Dr. Dave Band.

Many of the women opted for brightly-colored clothes, such as Suzanne Gurley’s hot pink jacket and the red dresses worn by Nancy Phillips and Pat Hochkins.

Perhaps this is an omen of cheerier days to come in 2009.

Some in the crowd accessorized their outfits with the party hats that were heaped on the tables.

Shar Gregrich and Monica DeLesline looked particularly festive in their “Happy New Year” tiaras.

Dr. Sandy and Joanne Elton, Doug and Lynn Eggar and Gary and Joan Geluso shared a table at the party.

Across the room, Phyllis and Mike Etchieson and Doug and Dawn Mishler were seated at the “Signs Now” table.

Also seen ringing in the New Year were Mark and Wanda Burke, Teresa and Rick Parcels, Tim and Chris Flynn and Richard and Annmarie Tucker.
