n “Pink Martini Spa-tini”: Manatee Cancer Center is hosting its first “Pink Martini Spa-tini,” 5-8 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Cancer Support Community. This inaugural event will feature stations of pampering including makeovers by Chanel makeup artists Joan Russell and Dawn Paterson assisted by Cutting Loose Salon, mini manicures by Janine Dixon of Ana Molinari Salon Spa, spray tanning by Beth Saputo of Forbidden Tan, chair massages by Elaine Dohms, Liz Yerkes, Pamela Wald, Jennifer Funk, and pink martinis with hors d’oeuvres by Polo Grill. “We want everyone to have a night of truly being pampered,” says Dr. Mary Koshy of Manatee Cancer Center. “The event is open to the community free of charge but, of course, we hope people will make generous contributions to Cancer Support Community.” Reservations are required at www.manateecancercenter.com or by calling (941) 795-2270. n Frankly Speaking about Breast Reconstruction: This thoughtful and comprehensive empowerment program streamlines information for women diagnosed with breast cancer to emphasize options and tools for decision-making around breast reconstruction, 1-2:30 p.m. Oct. 14.
n Nutrition For Cancer: Pam Mathis, MEd, RD, LD, CWC, Nutrition Consultant, will discuss nutrition concerns and issues relevant to cancer treatment and recovery, noon- 1 p.m. Oct. 21. Topics may include specific foods to eat during and after treatment, supplements, sugar intake, antioxidant foods, acid/alkaline balance, and more.
n Breast Cancer Symposium: Join the Cancer Support Community and Lakewood Ranch Cancer Center for Southwest Florida’s first Breast Cancer Symposium, 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 24. Enjoy short, informative presentation from respected local cancer care physicians and support service providers.

Pink Parties: Manatee Diagnostic Center is striving to educate women about prevention and early detection of breast cancer. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month Manatee Diagnostic Center is hosting its second annual “Pink Parties” from 5 to 7 p.m. The dates are:

The Digital Screening Mammograms are $50 for non-insured patients. For patients with insurance they will file your insurance.
