BRADENTON — The Breast Care Center at Blake Medical began its second annual “Hunt For Pink October” promotion Oct. 1.
Blake has partnered with the American Cancer Society and local businesses throughout Manatee to raise awareness of breast cancer.
The promotion enables participants to “hunt, learn and win” fabulous prizes, while educating the community on the importance of detecting breast cancer in its early stages.
Participants can find a “Hunt For Pink October” treasure map in the Bradenton Herald, online at www.blakemedicalcenter. com/pink, or at any of our partnered businesses throughout town.
Participants will visit five scavenger hunt stops in Manatee (AMF Bowling, Anna Maria Oyster Bar, Bealls Department Store, Crowder’s Gifts & Gadgets and Smoothie King) where they will learn about breast cancer by filling in a specific question and answer from each stop on their map.
Participants will then turn in their completed map to the Breast Care Center at Blake Medical Center (2010 59th Street West, Suite 1500, Bradenton) by 5 p.m. Oct. 22.
All completed maps are eligible for the: Grand prize — “Paradise at Home” ‘Staycation’ with weekend accommodations provided by Sato Real Estate, dinner for two from the Chiles Group (Mar Vista, Beachhouse or Sandbar restaurant) and an island rental package from Beach Bums AMI; second-place prize — “Mini Escape” includes overnight stay from the Harrington House on Anna Maria Island and dinner for two at the Beach Bistro; third-place prize — “A Night to Remember” limousine service to Mattison’s Riverside for dinner for two, followed by a show at the Manatee Players Performing Arts Center.
Blake will announce the winners at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk Oct. 23 at the Sarasota Polo Grounds.
