BRADENTON -- Thirty-four Palma Sola and Stewart elementary students were uninjured when their bus was involved in a four-vehicle crash at 1:26 p.m. Thursday, according to the Bradenton Police Department. Preliminary investigation showed the school bus was eastbound on Manatee Avenue West in the 1700 block of Manatee Ave West when traffic ahead of the bus slowed and then stopped.
The school bus failed to stop and struck the rear of a vehicle in front of the bus, which caused two other vehicles to be rear-ended after being pushed forward.
A total of four vehicles were involved, including the school bus, according to the report.
The Manatee County School Board was notified. There was no road blockage.
