Manatee students outperform state scores in algebra

MANATEE — Manatee County outperformed the state in end-of-course Algebra I tests released today, with 62 percent of test-takers in grades seventh through 12 achieving a “Level 3” score or higher.

The state, by contrast, had 59 percent of its test-takers achieve a passing score.

End-of-course assessments are slated to replace the controversial FCAT tests within a few years.
