Water leak fixed at Manatee school district office

MANATEE - The Manatee school board headquarters on Manatee Avenue was expected to be ready for regular operations by 9 p.m. Monday following an afternoon water leak from a broken pipe that forced the school board to hold its regular biweekly meeting at another location.

Maintenance Director Todd Henson told the board the fire department expected to finish its clean up of the headquarters late Monday and that only three offices would be unuseuable on Tuesday. Henson also said a follow-up inspection would be conducted to ensure that the broken water pipe did not cause any additional damage.

The water pipe that broke was in the third floor men's restroom and caused water to flow down two floors.
