A homeless man was arrested early Friday and charged with two counts of burglary with battery and possession of burglary tools, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Before 5 a.m., Luis Daniel Concepcion, 31, was detected by a dog near a sliding glass door inside a home in the 14000 block of Lee Road.
According to the release, the dog’s owner called out the name of his brother, thinking Concepcion was him, and the brother responded from a bedroom. The brothers then physically engaged the defendant, who was said to have struck them.
Before deputies arrived, Concepcion was found hog-tied by a rope. He was then transported to the Manatee County jail.
In addition to the burglary-related charges, Concepcion faces two counts of battery. He is being held on bonds totaling $22,500.
