Bicyclist, 13, injured by hit-and-run driver

A 13-year-old Myakka City boy was taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

The boy was on his bike in the eastbound lane of Clay Gully Road riding westbound, according to the report. The eastbound vehicle approached the intersection of County Line Road and swiped the right side of the boy on the bike before fleeing.

The hit-and-run vehicle was described as a newer model four-door black Cadillac with possible right side damage.
