Bradenton woman charged with careless driving after 4-car crash

A Bradenton woman was charged with careless driving and driving without a valid drivers license after a car crash on 53rd Avenue East and Ninth Street East, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

At 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Shirley J. Ayala Rosado, 25, of Bradenton, was westbound in the inside lane of State Road 70 when she failed to stop when two vehicles in front of her stopped for traffic, according to the report.

Rosado steered right in an evasive maneuver but struck the right side of the two vehicles in front of her. According to FHP, her vehicle rotated counter-clockwise toward the eastbound lanes, hitting the front of a third vehicle traveling east.

Rosado’s car overturned on its top and came to a final rest facing northbound.

The driver of the last car, a 72-year-old Bradenton man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Blake Medical Center. All other drivers and the fourth vehicle’s passenger sustained minor injuries.

The FHP report indicated alcohol was not a factor.
