FHP looking for hit-and-run driver who injured woman in Bradenton

Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a hit-and-run driver who struck and critically injured a woman trying to walk across 15th Street East in Bradenton about 10:34 a.m. Thursday.

A 42-year-old Sarasota woman was walking across 15th Street East just north of 59th Avenue West when she was hit by what a witness described as a white panel pan occupied by two men, according to a news release. The driver had been traveling north on 15th Street East and the front of the vehicle struck the woman, troopers said.

The witness told troopers the van drove into the parking lot at 5831 15th St. E. after the crash before fleeing the scene, according to the report.

The woman was taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton where she was listed in critical condition, according to FHP.
