BRADENTON -- The trial of Alexander Marr's mother and her boyfriend in the death of her 4-year-old son has been delayed to November.
Dianna Marr, 32, and Trevor Cardarelle, 26, are charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child in the death of Alexander Marr.
At about noon April 12, deputies were called to a duplex in the 700 block of 59th Avenue Terrace West, Bradenton, where Alexander lived with his mother and Cardarelle, after reports the boy was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the home.
An autopsy found Alexander suffered traumatic injuries to his head and torso.
Circuit Judge Diana Moreland granted a continuance Wednesday morning in the case against Marr and Cardarelle, when attorneys stipulated they could not be ready in time for the previously set August trial date. The case is now set for trial
during a two-week trial period beginning Nov. 2.
Marr is out on a $15,000 bond. She had been given the opportunity to be released on supervision but opted to post a bond. Conditions of her release include no contact with Cardarelle or any minors.
Cardarelle is being held without bond after he was arrested April 12 on a charge of being a convicted felon in possession of ammunition, a violation of his probation for a grand theft conviction. He faces a separate charge of capital sexual battery of a child in another case.
Marr and Cardarelle are next scheduled in court at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 26.
Dianna Marr's mother, Karla Kay Gray, 53, charged with failure to report child abuse, was not in court Wednesday. Investigators say she failed to report abuse to Marr's children.
Gray is free on $1,500 bond.
