Manatee detectives looking for homicide victim's car

MANATEE -- Manatee County Sheriff's Office detectives are looking for a homicide victim's car as they investigate the death of a 32-year-old man whose body was found on a road near Duette on Thursday evening.

Sheriff's spokesman Dave Bristow said there were signs of obvious trauma to the body of Manuel Galindo Oquendo, of Mulberry in Polk County. Deputies said Galindo Oquendo was last seen Tuesday, and they believe he was killed on Wednesday.

Deputies said his car is a 2001 silver Chrysler PT Cruiser with Florida tag DVPW70.

Galindo Oquendo's body was found on Davis Grade Road, which is about two miles north of State Road 62 and about five miles northwest of Duette.
