Detectives looking for anyone who saw Bradenton man in hours before he was killed

MANATEE -- Manatee County Sheriff's Office detectives are looking for anyone who may have seen or had any contact with a Bradenton man in the final hours before he was killed.

Anthony Shinholster, 57, was found unresponsive by a friend about 1 a.m. Sunday. He was declared dead by paramedics moments later.

Investigators have not released the cause of death, other than to say he suffered a traumatic injury.

Shinholster was last seen alive at 9 p.m. Saturday at the Golden Corral on Cortez Road with his family, according to sheriff's office spokesman Dave Bristow.

"We are trying to find out who he came in contact with or anybody who saw him after 9 p.m. or saw his car," Bristow. "Somebody knows something out there."

Shinholster drove a 2000 maroon/reddish-colored four-door Cadillac, according to Bristow.

Investigators say Shinholster was well known in the community and they need witnesses to come forward.
