2 St. Pete teens arrested for sexual battery in high school

ST. PETERSBURG -- Pinellas County Sheriff’s detectives have arrested two teenagers, ages 15 and 17, on a charge they sexually battered a 15-year-old girl at school.

Detectives said their investigation began Monday when the victim disclosed to deputies she had been sexually battered by the suspects.

Deputies said the crime occurred in a room on the campus of Dixie Hollins High School, 4940 62nd St. N. in St. Petersburg.

Detectives said the victim did not know the suspects.

"Something should be done about it," said parent Brenda Adams. "That's horrible, it should not happen at school."

The suspects are each charged with one count of sexual battery. They were transported to the Pinellas Juvenile Assessment Center.

The minors will not be named unless they are charged as adults.
