Sheriff: Taxi driver robbed at knifepoint in Bradenton

MANATEE -- A man was robbed of $225 early Wednesday as he was finishing his shift as a taxi driver, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The 29-year-old was cleaning out his work vehicle at the carwash in the 2800 block of 14th Street West in Bradenton at 4:27 a.m., deputies said.

Two male suspects approached the victim from behind and one said, "give me all your money or I'll stab you," according to a release.

The victim never saw a weapon but gave them $225 in cash and the suspects ran southbound towards the Bradenton Quick Mart, according to deputies. Deputies established a perimeter but could not locate the suspects.

The victim was not injured.
