Suspect crashes stolen motor home into Bradenton shopping center, flees

BRADENTON -- A suspect was charged for stealing a motor home, crashing it and fleeing the scene early Monday, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

The suspect crashed the stolen motor home into the Bantam Shopping Center located at 2200 14th Street West at 5:58 a.m. Monday, causing major damage to the building and the vehicle, police said.

The suspect fled the scene, but was later located by police, according to a release.

He was charged with leaving the scene of a crash, and the Manatee County Sheriff's Office is handling the grand theft charges. The motor vehicle was reported stolen to the sheriff's office prior to the crash.
