Manatee pedestrian hit crossing U.S. 301
MANATEE -- Investigators are looking one of the drivers involved a crash in which a pedestrian was struck while crossing the road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 1994 Toyota Corolla and a van were heading west on U.S. 301 approaching the Ninth Street East intersection at 12:02 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release.
A pedestrian was crossing U.S. 301 from the south side and both vehicles made evasive maneuvers to avoid hitting the pedestrian, the report said.
The Corolla front hit the pedestrian's right side and sideswiped the van's right side.
The pedestrian had no identification on him and was taken to Blake Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries.
The van left the scene without disclosing information.
