PALMETTO -- A Palmetto man was charged with possession of not more than 20 grams of cannabis, according to the Palmetto Police Department.
Terrance Lamont Seabrooks, 32, was arrested at 3:02 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of 11st Street West, Palmetto. According to a report, Seabrooks was driving in a dark green Buick in the 200 block of 12th Street West. The car did not have working brake lights so police conducted a traffic stop on Seabrooks.
According to a report, an officer conducted a walk around with K9 Xent, who then alerted that there was a possible controlled substance in the vehicle. The officer searched the vehicle and found three small plastic bags with a green leafy substance in them that tested positive for marijuana. The bags were found in a small medicine box in the driver's side door pocket, according to a report. The total weight of the marijuana was 2.3 grams, police said.
According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website, Seabrooks was released the same day on $500 bond.
