BRADENTON -- A Palmetto man was charged Saturday with possession of marijuana under 20 grams, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
Reginald Louis Hester, 20, was arrested at 11:25 p.m. Saturday in the 2000 block of Manatee Avenue East. According to a report, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Hester because of his failure to have the car's headlights, tail and tag lights on. The officer smelled fresh marijuana coming from the car and pulled Hester out of the vehicle and told him he could smell marijuana.
According to a report, Hester said he just rolled up a marijuana blunt inside the car and it was inside a green Garcia Vega cigar packet. The officer found the blunt, which had 7 grams of marijuana and five burnt marijuana roaches totaling 8 grams. In addition, police said the officer also found a plastic bag with marijuana inside.
Hester was released Sunday from Manatee County jail on $500 bond, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website.
