Bradenton woman charged with assault after scrape over car ding

BRADENTON — A Bradenton woman has been charged with battery after a confrontation over a car ding, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Holly Harrell, 29, was arrested at 7:13 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven, 902 14th St. W., Bradenton, according to the report.

Harrell and the victim argued over a scratch on Harrell’s car. Harrell claimed the victim's car door had hit hers when it opened, according to the report.

Harrell snapped a photo of the victim’s license plate and the victim took a photo of her license plate. Police said she then began yelling at the victim and pepper-sprayed him.

Harrell told officers she felt threatened because the victim and his friends, all waiting for a tow truck, were surrounding her car.

Police report a security video showed Harrell speaking to the victim and his friends, who were on the sidewalk. No one approached Harrell.

There was no scratch on Harrell’s car, police reported.

Harrell was released Thursday on $500 bond, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s website.
