MANATEE -- A man was arrested on multiple charges Tuesday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Robert Daniel Copeland, 44, was arrested at 9:39 a.m. Tuesday in the 7500 block of Commerce Boulevard. According to a report, officers searched for a stolen U-Haul, the driver of which was later identified as Copeland. Deputies followed Copeland as he turned into the 1000 block of Commerce Industrial Park and drove around a building before stopping and asking someone "if anyone sold TVs around here."

According to a report, Copeland was taken down by gunpoint after he got out of the vehicle in the 7500 block of Commerce Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

Deputies found two needles and a spoon in Copeland's pants pocket. Copeland told officers he used them for pills, according to a report.
