MANATEE — Minor injuries were reported in a crash involving a van and box truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash took place at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 75 about 1.5 miles south of U.S. 301 near mile marker 224.
A 25-year-old Valrico woman driving a Econoline work van with a trailer was southbound on a left curve on I-75 following a Chevrolet box truck, FHP officials reported.
The van’s rear left tire blew causing the driver to lose control and strike the rear left of the box truck, FHP reported.
The van jackknifed on the grass shoulder and the trailer overturned, according to FHP.
After the collision, the box truck struck a cable barrier in the median and overturned, according to the report.
The van passenger, a 20-year-old Valrico woman, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Manatee Memorial Hospital, according to the report. No other injuries were reported and no charges were filed.
