MANATEE — A Manatee County School District bus driver was cited for careless driving after striking a metal post in a school parking lot Monday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Three children in the bus, ages 7, 10 and 11, were not injured, according to FHP.
At 3:02 p.m. Monday, Jose Gregorio Gonzalez, 52, of Bradenton, was southbound in the parking lot of Ida M. Stewart Elementary School, 7905 15th Ave. NW, Bradenton.
The bus traveled onto the west shoulder over the curb and its right rear side struck a metal post.
FHP officials reportedly do not suspect the incident was alcohol-related.
