BRADENTON — A Bradenton man was charged with theft and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after taking a victim’s computer and threatening him and a witness with a rifle, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Tea Robert Vandugteren, 33, was arrested at 11:31 a.m. Monday. The victim and a witness told police they overheard Vandugteren from another room talking about the victim’s computer. When they went to Vandugteren, he was reportedly holding the computer.
“The victim confronted the defendant who said: ‘When you give me the $40 you owe me you can have it back,’ then took a handgun from his waist and cocked it, then put it back in his waistline, not pointing the gun at him,” police report.
Vandugteren reportedly took the computer to his car, brought a rifle back into the house and said if he goes to jail, he is going to take care of everyone, deputies said.
