MANATEE — A 67-year-old Bradenton woman and one of her two passengers, a 76-year-old Sarasota woman, are both listed in serious condition Tuesday night at Blake Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash.
The accident ocurred at 7:20 p.m. on U.S. 41 and 58th Avenue West, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
The Bradenton woman was driving a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser south on U.S. 41 in the continuous left turn lane, approaching 58th Avenue West, according to the report.
A 1997 Infiniti Q30T driven by a 27-year-old Bradenton man,was also going south on U.S. 41 in the center lane, slightly behind and to the right of the PT Cruiser, the report states.
The PT Cruiser turned right into a driveway at 5802 14th St. W. violating the Infiniti’s right-of-way, according to the report.
The Infiniti driver took evasive action by steering to the right, but was unable to avoid a collision, the report states.
The right side of the Infiniti hit the left front of the PT Cruiser, the report details.
A 42-year-old Sarasota man in the PT Cruiser had minor injuries as did the Infiniti driver, according to the report.
The driver of the PT Cruiser was cited for failure to yield.
