MANATEE — A 28-year-old Bradenton man was arrested early Sunday after he allegedly fired a gun at his girlfriend's ex-husband.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office charged Bryan Kelsey with firing upon the 57-year-old victim’s car as he was driving by his ex-wife's house.
Deputies report the victim drove to his ex-wife's house on Blue Fish Circle to rekindle a relationship with his ex-wife. The victim three times went to the home and knocked on doors and windows, but there was no response.
As he was driving by a subsequent time about 2:30 a.m., someone standing front of the house fired a single round from an AK-47. The projectile shattered chunks of roadway upward, which peppered the passenger side of the victim's car with dents and holes, according to a report.
The victim was not injured and waited for deputies at a nearby Walgreens. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail and charged with aggravated assault and firing upon a vehicle. The assault rifle was seized as evidence after a search of the house, according to the report.
