SARASOTA -- The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit, working in conjunction with the U.S. Marshal's Service, on Thursday arrested Oliver Locke in California.
Locke. 29. has been on the run from his Gillespie Avenue home since February. After serving a two-year prison sentence for a 2010 case involving nine counts of credit card fraud, Locke was placed on community supervision but he violated probation, according to a news release from the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
"Locke knew he was wanted and threatened to harm law enforcement if they tried to take him into custody. Sarasota deputies tracked him across the country and recently forwarded a lead to the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, who arrested him today in Huntington Beach," the release states.
The State Attorney’s Office confirmed Locke will be extradited to Sarasota County.
There is one fugitive remaining on the Sarasota County 10 Most Wanted list released in March. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Darryl Lamar can contact Crime Stoppers by calling 941-366-TIPS (8477) or www.sarasotacrimestoppers.com.
