SARASOTA -- Two brothers were arrested Thursday and charged with manufacturing methaphetamin at a homeless camp in Sarasota, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
The Sarasota Police Department informed sheriff's detectives that John Bedford, 30, and David Garing, 19, were cooking meth in their tents in a wooded area east of Cattlemen Road and Webber Street, according to a news release.
"Undercover detectives and deputies from the Tactical Unit went to the campsite just before 9 p.m. and found all the materials necessary to cook meth and significant quantities of the drug," the report states.
The sheriff's office said both men admitted to making the drug.
They were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and trafficking in the drug. They were both being held without bond at the Sarasota County jail.
