MANATEE -- No one, including two children, were hurt when someone fired several gunshots at a Bradenton residence early Thursday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
About 2:30 a.m., a deputy on patrol heard eight gunshots in the vicinity of 57th Avenue East and 15th Street East. While checking the area, the deputy found 12 spent bullet casings in the roadway in front of a residence in the 1400 block of 57th Avenue Drive East, according to a news release.
The deputy surveyed the area and determined that a nearby residence had been struck multiple times, according to the report.
The deputy awakened the four occupants, including two children ages 4 and 8, who apparently were unaware that their house had been struck by gunfire.
