2 open fire in W. Bradenton intersection; no one injured

MANATEE — Two men opened fire in a Bradenton intersection, shouting "west side" and firing their guns toward a parking lot where people were sitting, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Witnesses said five to seven rounds were fired, but no one was injured, the release stated.

Two men in an older, Astro-type white van pulled up to the intersection of Ninth Street Court West and 35th Avenue West about 10:10 p.m. They got out of the vehicle, shouted “west side” and started firing, according to the sheriff’s office.

The men fled west on 35th Avenue West in the van that apparently had a flat tire during the incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
