3 arrested after robbery at Bradenton motel

MANATEE -- Three people were arrested on robbery charges after a dispute at a Bradenton motel turned violent, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 10:30 p.m. Monday, the three suspects got into an argument at the Sunrise Motel on 67th Street Circle East with a woman about clothing belonging to one of the suspect's son, who was staying in a second motel room rented by the victim. The suspects started hitting the woman when she told them the clothes was in a Dumpster, according to a news release.

The suspects also pulled the victim out of the room and into the parking lot. During the confrontation, one of the suspects took a $50 bill from the victim's hand, according to the report.

The suspects -- Nakia Smalls, 36; Tenicka Neal, 33; and Fredrick Douglas, 39 -- were arrested at a gas station next to the motel.

They were each being held without bond at the Manatee County jail.
