MANATEE — Sheriff’s deputies are wondering why a woman they suspect was shoplifting at the Target Store at 6150 14th St. W., Bradenton on Friday had more than $3,000 in her purse at the time of her arrest.
Genel Gingeleski, 39, of Manatee County, walked into the Target at about 12:30 p.m. Friday and, two hours later, exited the store wearing clothes she had put on in the dressing room but had not paid for, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
The report states that Gingeleski also took two hours removing price tags off selected clearance items and putting those tags on about $167 worth of regularly-priced goods, according to the report.
Police say Gingeleski paid for those incorrectly marked items at the register.
Although the report documents that Gingeleski had more than enough cash to pay for her purchases, the report does not speculate why she decided not to use it or why she had so much cash.
Gingeleski’s bail was $120 and she was out of jail on Monday, according to the sheriff’s office website.
