Bradenton man tells police how he profited from drugs

MANATEE — A 57-year-old Bradenton man told deputies after he was arrested Wednesday that he has made a business out of purchasing pills and reselling them, making $5 or $6 profit on each one.

James Alex Walker, who lives in the 900 block of Spring Lake Blvd., Bradenton, told Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies that he purchases a pill comprised of Hydromorphone, or Dilaudid, for $14 or $15 per pill and resells them for $20 per pill, according to a sheriff’s office arrest report.

Walker, who listed his occupation as a maintenance technician at Pines of Sarasota, told deputies he purchases Oxycodone for $20 per pill and resells them for $25 per pill.

When he was arrested, Walker had 19 Oxycodone pills and 24 Hydromophone pills, according to the report.

The sheriff’s office had gotten arrest warrants for Walker for selling both drugs, which are controlled substances.

On Wednesday, when Walker pulled up to his residence in a 2005 Ford Explorer, several detectives and a deputy converged, arrested him and charged him with intent to sell controlled drugs,

Walker’s bond was set at $2,500 and the sheriff’s office website indicated he was not incarcerated on Monday.
