Manatee deputy's patrol car damaged in collision with deer

MANATEE -- A sheriff's patrol car was damaged early Wednesday when a deer collided with the vehicle in East Manatee, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

A deputy was driving in the 15700 block of State Road 64 about 12:50 a.m., when he saw a deer run out onto the roadway, according to a news release.

"He had no time to react and the deer collided into the bottom portion of the right side of the patrol car," the release states.

The right side of the car suffered a slight dent, according to the report.

The deputy was unable to locate the animal.
