3 charged with dealing in stolen property in East Manatee theft of diesel

EAST MANATEE -- Three men were charged with dealing in stolen property in the theft of diesel fuel in the 11000 block of Carlton Road about 5:15 a.m. Sunday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

One of the men, Alex Alamia who works for Vector Fleet Management, was observed pumping red dye diesel into a chemicaltype bladder tank that was in the bed of Juan Gaona Jr.'s truck, the sheriff's office reported.

The fuel was being pumped out of a Vector Fleet truck belonging to Vector Fleet Services.

Alex Alamia, 30, Gaona, 28, and Damion Alamia, 19, all of Wauchula, were were charged with dealing in stolen property. Alex Alamia was additionally charged with transporting fuel in an unapproved container.

Gaona's vehicle was impounded and the fleet truck was released to Vector Fleet Services security personnel.
