MANATEE -- Four masked gunmen broke into a Bradenton home early Thursday, held the occupants at gunpoint and ransacked the residence, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The home invasion took place about 12:50 a.m. at a residence in the 5600 block of Sixth Street Court East, according to a news release.
The four victims, three men and a woman, were awakened by loud thumps on the front door. Someone then kicked in the front door, and the victims were confronted by the suspects, according to the report.
The gunmen ordered the residents to lie on the floor. As one of suspects held them at gunpoint, the others searched the house, according to the sheriff's office.
After about three minutes, the suspects fled in an unknown direction. The house had been ransacked so it was undetermined what, if anything, had been taken, according to the report.
The assailants were described as wearing ski masks and being dressed all in black. Three were carrying handguns and the fourth suspect was carrying some sort of long gun, according to the sheriff's office.
