More than $70,000 in items stolen in Parrish burglary

MANATEE -- A pick-up truck and several pieces of welding equipment and related gear -- worth a total of $70,000 -- were stolen from a Parrish business early Monday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The owner of Parrish Garage, 12120 73rd St. E., Parrish, arrived at the business about 7:30 a.m. to find the electricity off and that a burglary had taken place, according to a news release. The sheriff's office said the break-in occurred between midnight and 7:30 a.m.

The thief or thieves got away with a green 2006 F450 truck with multiple boxes on the back containing tools and welders. Taken from inside the business were welders, plasma cutters and other tools, according to the sheriff's office.
